LFM comments on the distortions in the image of women and the food cycle in the pulse of the Berlin metropolis: The female protagonist is transformed from a suburbanite in a big-city photo studio into a mythical warrior exuding primal energy for an avant- garde photo session. The film details the power and resources of the fashion world to shape the very real image of women. The film culminates in a surprising juxtaposition of worlds as the protagonist hunts for sustenance on the obscure frontiers of society.

Director Jarkko Rasanen (Finland) is known for using a variety of media in his work, including photography, video, AI, teletext and audio. He uses algorithms to create abstract interpretations from existing images. He adds a coder aesthetic to traditional film, as well as performance and experimental art. His work has been exhibited in e.g. Berlin, Belgrade, Jihlava, Helsinki, London and New York. And Paris.

Actress and scriptwriter Ulla Nurminen (Finland) is the star of the film, who is in the experimental documentary film presenting basically herself - an independent multitalented woman who is modeling in a fashion photoshoot setting by LaFake.

LAFAKE represents the collaborative work of Jose Luna (Venezuela) - stage and costume designer - and Irene Aparici (Spain) - graphic designer and photographer. Inspired by docufiction, LAFAKE shapes photographical reality with subtle elements of fiction: their work highlights the imperfection of beauty with extravagant aesthetics loaded with surrealism, kitsch and pop. With passion for visual eloquence LAFAKE establishes it's own place between a social reality and art. _Too true to be fake_ is an electric cry open to the exploration of ethical issues, social stereotypes, as well as the construction of personal, family or corporate identities.
